Spring Roll Rage in Zwolle

Last Saturday, a 31 year old man was arrested in Zwolle for attacking a Vietnamese food stall owner. You may ask why on earth would he attack a 60 year old man selling spring rolls in the streets of Zwolle. Well, the answer is simple, if not logical. The attacker wanted a vegetarian spring roll, but the only ones available contained meat. So the younger man hit the food seller in the face and on the head a few times. Spring roll rage. A new phenomenon?

Now I do admit spring rolls (loempia) are indeed lekker here, especially with hot chili sauce smeared over the top, but I am not sure that the lack of these mightily fine snacks in one's daily diet would cause many people to turn to violence. A rather strange phenomenon to say the least and it would seem that this is not the first time this poor man has been attacked whilst trying to make a living. Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

The Zwolle weblog has risen to the challenge of determining the best cause of action to punish this attacker, in no particular order:
  1. Both hands placed for 5 seconds in hot cooking oil
  2. Both hands placed for 5 seconds in hot VEGETABLE cooking oil
  3. Be made to eat a meat spring roll
  4. A five year stay with a family in Berkum (A neighbourhood in Zwolle where most of the residents are over 65, according to Wikipedia. I am obviously missing something here so anyone able to shed some light please do get in touch)
