Being British

Smitten by Britain recently shared three films by British Pathe that were made in the 1970s to educate americans on how to conduct social and business relationships with the British.

The films are truly fabulous - bowler hats, pubs, embarrassing extroversion, titles, punctuality, rainfall, manufacturing and industry, driving, London, business meetings, the BBC, pound sterling and traffic wardens - all the things that make Britain great. Of particular interest to the Dutch is the section on why you don't call everyone English in Britain and how you pronounce those strange looking names like Leicester...... Of interest to everyone is how you should treat a secretary - remember she may be married to the boss!
