Laura Speaks Dutch

I regularly read the NRC Next newspaper, a Dutch publication. There is a section on the back page that gives 'reasons to stay home'. This usually comprises interesting or bizarre links to websites.
This week I saw a good link for expatriates living in the Netherlands, or for families of those who have emigrated here who want to astound the natives (and their family) during their next visit to the Netherlands.

Laura Speaks Dutch is a site established by Brenno de Winter with downloadable podcasts containing Dutch lessons. There are currently 52 different topics ranging from bike riding and food to football and Dutch provinces.

The origins of the site stem from the romance between Brenno and an American he met called Laura. He wanted to show her more about his work and help her with Dutch. The relationship did not last; a 6000+ mile distance between them the culprit. However, the site lives on and many people across the world are learning Dutch the Brenno de Winter way!
